AmEx Goes Rose Gold With Latest Card

American Express (AmEx) has upped its appeal once again by releasing a limited edition rose gold credit card.

Business Insider reported that the rose gold version of the card will be available to account holders until 9 January 2019, and noted that it offers a host of rewards that make it a very attractive proposition.

One of its top features is that it earns 4x points per dollar at US grocery stores (up to $25,000 and then 1x point after that). Other benefits to having one of these AmEx cards are 3x points on flights booked directly with the airline, and 1x point on everything after that.

If you’re approved for one of the new Gold AmEx cards, you can choose to have your card sent to you in the rose gold version, rather than the standard gold colour, if you contact the company using its chat function on the website once you’ve requested a metal card.

Although the annual fee for holding such a card has increased to $250, the news provider notes that it’s worth it when you look at the host of benefits. $120 in dining credits when you pay for meals with your card at certain partners and $100 in airline fee credit are offered each year, for instance.

Of course, we wouldn’t recommend that you gold plate any of your existing credit cards to get the AmEx look, but there are a host of other items you can send to a gold plating service.

One company that has recently gone all-out with the idea of gold plating is Dyson. They’ve produced a hair dryer that features 23.75 karat gold leaf detailing – definitely an extravagant purchase!
