Go For The Personal Touch This Valentine’s Day
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, loved-up couples all over the world will be thinking about what to get their partner on February 14th.
While many lavish their loved ones with flowers, dinners out, chocolates and expensive jewellery, meaningful and personal gifts are becoming increasingly popular. What’s more, it can save you lots of money on this costly occasion.
According to research from American Express, 56 per cent of Brits bought a present for their partner for Valentine’s Day last year, spending a total of £776 million across the UK.
It is thought that people typically spent £27 on their boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife, although those buying tickets to shows, dinners out and luxurious presents could easily have exceeded this.
Instead, the credit card company suggests getting a personalised present such as engraved jewellery, as “a meaningful gift has endless possibilities”.
Why not consider gold plating a piece of jewellery they already own, adding a new lease of life to their most sentimental items?
The Huffington Post also recently suggested some gift ideas for the romantic holiday, including personalised presents. Engraved cufflinks, customised flasks, monogrammed journals and Chinese zodiac charms were all recommended.
It also suggested superhero wallets if your partner is a big kid at heart, and zodiac necklaces to show you really know something personal about your missus.
You could also order a gold plated rose for something really special to present your girlfriend or wife, which takes giving flowers to a whole new level.
