52% ‘Put Off’ Christmas Shopping For As Long As Possible
It pays to plan ahead when it comes to Christmas so you can spread the cost and make sure that you don’t forget any important presents or run out of time to really find what you want to give to people.
However, it seems that a lot of us are last-minute shoppers, with new research from Topcashback.co.uk revealing that 52 per cent of people put off shopping trips for as long as possible. What’s more, 72 per cent admit that they get distracted while out and about and don’t achieve what they set out to when Christmas shopping.
Reasons for procrastinating were found to be not knowing what to buy friends and family (interesting since the majority of people spend 20 hours or so preparing and planning for December 25th), as well as shops being too busy and being overwhelmed by how expensive the festive season is.
“Christmas, and especially the build up to it, can be a stressful time. There are often so many things that need to be done and bought ahead of the event as people want to make the festive season special,” consumer affairs editor Natasha Rachel Smith said.
A great idea for a Christmas present is having something special gold plated so you can give someone a bit of bling without having to break the bank. It doesn’t take long to have items plated and practically anything can be revamped in this way, so with a bit of planning you can really give a wonderful present with hardly any trouble at all.
