Gold-plated Football Boots Anyone?
There can’t be few footballers out there who wouldn’t love to have the same talent and skill with a ball as Cristiano Ronaldo.
Love or hate the Portuguese international player, you can’t deny that he’s got plenty of fancy footwork and some nifty finishing skills to boot.
Last week he won the coveted Ballon d’Or trophy for the fourth time so his sponsors Nike have done what anyone would – released a limited edition football boot featuring gold-plated studs.
The Daily Mail revealed that just 777 pairs of the Mercurial Superfly CR7 Vitorias boots will go on general sale through the Nike website next year, with Ronaldo himself of course receiving a pair.
Featuring the CR7 brand, the boots are a stylish white all over, with a glint of gold provided by the soles and studs. They’re bound to bring some sparkle to your performances on the pitch.
There’s no mention of the price of these incredible limited edition boots yet, but it’s safe to say they’re unlikely to be cheap.
However, there is a way you could bring a bit of that Ronaldo glamour to a football pitch near you – sending your own favourite pair of football boots to a gold plating service means your studs can receive the same treatment, and it’ll probably be considerably cheaper (not to mention easier) than battling for a pair of the Ronaldo shoes.
Ronaldo is currently in Japan with his club, Real Madrid, where the team is in contention in the Fifa World Club Championship. Other sides lining up to compete include South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, Club America from Mexico, and Japan’s Kashima Antlers.
